Revidge Fold Brownies
The New Year started with rehearsals for the Gang show where the brownies were 'on the beach' with Cliff Richard.
The brownies had a musical start to the New Year, firstly attending the pantomime at King George's Hall and continuing rehearsals for the Gang Show. Not only did they have songs to learn but also a dance routine specially choreographed for them
We have had a variety of visitors in to help, particularly with the culture badge. We have celebrated both St Patrick's night and Burns Night undertaking a variety of crafts and sampling local fayre including haggis
Barn Owl Bill came to tell us all about the different owls he looks after including a tawny owl and two snowy owls. Both the girls and the leaders were able to touch and handle the birds.
Instead of organising a pack holiday we organised a sleep over in church This enabled us to sample the excellent cuisine from the chip shop across from church, and to undertake several crafts with the brownies.
Many of our older brownies have now transferred to guides however we still have 17 brownies in each pack, making 34 in total. Some of these came to us rather suddenly when Mellor Brook ceased to operate.
We would all like to thank all those who give freely of their time on a Thursday night to help us run the packs including Fiona, Naomi, Laura and Karen. Also for the visitors who readily come in to help with badges and activities

It is with much regret that we announce that the Uniformed Groups Committee has now ceased to function. This is due to the age of the members and the lack of support from the parents of the children involved in the groups. The funds are being placed in a special account with Church Funds and will be administered by the Treasurer. These funds should be sufficient to give the support previously given through the committee for at least the next six years.

What was the Uniformed Groups Committe?

Uniformed Groups Committee

A most successful Gang show took place in May and a good time was had by all. Many thanks to the leaders for all their hard work during 2001. Unfortunately, we are now without a cub leader and scout leader, like so many other churches in the area. We held two Book sales during the year which raised £180.Joyce Pickup.

Revidge Fold Beavers Report 2002

Over the last twelve months we have seen our numbers remain at around the 20 mark (which sometimes feels more like 40) We have changed our meeting night from Wednesday to Monday which was to ensure the Beavers met up with the cubs and scouts so that the progression wasn't as traumatic. During the year we have had several visiting speakers in and once again we would like to thank Ann Dolphin who although no longer involved on a weekly basis at Revidge is prepared to help us out when we get stuck. We would also like to thank Deborah Tattersall a parent of one of the Beavers who has become involved and now helps us out most weeks. We then had the bad news that due to job relocation for Phil Byrne (Akela) he had to suspend Cubs. We are still waiting for a leader to fill the gap but we are struggling. In December the Beavers went to Bowley Scout Camp where they were treated to a most magical evening involving the man who can and his reindeer. We were even treated to a night flight special. Then in February Paul Troop (Skip) from Scouts decided that due to other commitments he was unable to carry on scouts. This means that we are now in a precarious position of having 20 boys and no sections to feed into. We both hope that next years report reads as good as this one.
We would both like to thank the Church for its continued help and support which means that we as Leaders can plan a varied activity programme safe in the knowledge that we have people working behind the scenes to make it all happen.

THANK YOU

Mark and Alison

REPORT FOR 41ST REVIDGE FOLD RAINBOWS 2001

The Rainbow Unit continues to meet on a Thursday Evening between 5.30 and 6.30. At present we have six rainbows who enjoy all the different crafts and games which we do. Ideally we would like a few more girls, but adverts in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph and Radio Lancashire Mobile Zone have been in vain.
The Rainbows always enjoy a change, and were very excited when they visited Santa Claus at his base in Bowley Scout Camp before Christmas.
With the Golden Jubilee and the Commonwealth Games this summer, we look forward to exciting days ahead.
